About the Role

We are seeking an experienced AI/ML Software Engineer to join our GRC team and help reinvent risk management and compliance with AI. You’ll develop machine learning solutions that automate risk assessments, enhance compliance oversight, and improve fraud detection. Your work will directly influence how Uber meets regulatory requirements and protects its global ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and deploy machine learning models to automate GRC processes including risk assessments, audits, and regulatory monitoring
• Apply NLP techniques to analyze unstructured security incident data, policy documents, and regulatory text
• Develop predictive analytics for fraud detection and anomaly identification
• Collaborate with stakeholders in security, audit, legal, and engineering to shape AI-driven solutions
• Ensure compliance with ethical AI principles and regulatory AI governance standards
• Monitor, evaluate, and continuously improve model accuracy, fairness, and transparency

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, AI/ML, Data Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field
• 4+ years of experience in AI/ML, analytics, or data science roles
• Proficient in Python, R, or equivalent programming languages
• Hands-on experience with ML frameworks (TensorFlow, Scikit-learn, PyTorch)
• Strong understanding of NLP, anomaly detection, and predictive modeling

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience applying ML in cybersecurity, fraud detection, or risk management
• Familiarity with Explainable AI (XAI) methods and AI governance frameworks
• Relevant certifications such as CISM, CRISC, or Certified AI Ethics Professional
